In December, the entire Oaklea staff met to begin a visioning process for Oaklea. Where have we been? Where do we want to go? Most importantly, what does the portrait of an Oaklea student look like? Teachers weighed in with their ideas, hopes, and dreams for their students to be best prepared for the world ahead.
A group of ten teachers then signed on to lead this task and the Oaklea Design Team was born. After enjoying a meal at lead artist weaver Betsy Wolfston’s studio, the group began to map out a journey for the remainder of the year. This group continues to meet regularly with school-wide change agent, Michelle Swanson, to envision and implement next steps of transformation.
