You are receiving this e-mail either because you have said you’d like to volunteer to help with the upcoming Ashland Middle School Arts Festival or because someone at the school thinks you are awesome and should be involved.
The AMS Arts Festival is a new event with the goal of creating a sustainable funding source for the five schools art programs. Those programs include: Visual Arts, WAMS (Video production), Band, Orchestra and Culinary.
As you are probably aware, funding for arts programs in public schools all across the country are being slashed. The arts are very important in our community and especially to middle school students. “Studies show that developing art skills in adolescents keeps them focused, more productive, and happier in all aspects of life.” It is vitally important to keep the arts alive in our schools – call it an investment in our kids and all our futures.
We want to invite you to a meeting at the AMS, WAMS room on Monday, January 26th at 3:30p.m. to discuss the plans for this exciting event and to tell you how you can help!

• Silent Auction of donated items
• Raffle of donated items
• Videos created by AMS students shown
• Catered hors d’voeures
• Wine and beer (for sale)
• Music by AMS Orchestra and band (small ensembles)
• Live Auction of donated items
• Salsa Brava providing wonderful dance music
Come prepared to have a great time – without your kids!
