What arts education offering that is new as a result of your Studio to School project do you think has been most impactful to date – either for students, teachers, or your school community more generally? Why do you think that is?

Expanded access to instruments and instrument repair – students have greater access to instruments and instruments are in better condition, which helps students build confidence and take greater ownership. The after school choir has also been impactful for students since it gives them a new opportunity to study voice outside of daily music classes.

How are you working to connect these various offerings to make arts education more coordinated or comprehensive through your Studio to School project?

Teaching K-12 sequential music
Purchasing musical literature and instruments
Maintaining well working student quality instruments
Organizing a library of useable musical literature
Organizing public performances for students, faculty and community members
Recruiting community volunteers to teach music
Recruiting community donations of instruments and monetary funds
Sharing media through social networks
Engaging with other Oregon Music Education Association school music programs
Attending Umpqua Symphony Association Concerts

How are you working to ensure that these offerings are responsive to the needs and interests of your community?

Living in the community
Engaging socially with the community
Volunteering as Chair of OMEA District 10
