Evidence of a busy Fall line the hallways of Peninsula K-8! Creative photos of faculty accompany reflective metaphors and poems. The faculty photos were one output of the first stage of an all school residency incorporating photography and literacy. Julie led the teachers and then the students through a workshop to learn the camera and incorporate reflective writing through a project called, ”The Best Part of Me”.
We have also created several opportunities to help foster community over the past few months. In addition to the Back to School night, Julie took family portraits at the Harvest Fair, and we hosted an Art Night where students and families worked at creative stations in the cafeteria that allowed people to combine art and literacy to create ornaments that will hang from a holiday tree in downtown Kenton.
